Welcome to FatHat Game’s blog! Our first project will be a 2D old-style arcade game called Baby Savers. The player controls firemen holding a trampoline and moves them left and right on the screen. The objective is to bounce babies falling from a burning building across the screen and into an ambulance. While it sounds simple enough, more and more babies fall at once as the game progresses, and they start to fall faster.
We’re hoping to have a public beta released in the next couple of weeks. An exclusive set of beta testers (namely the ones who read this rather than just download it on the app market) will be entitled to a free or discounted copy of the final version of the game. A beta sign up page should be up in the coming week or so.
Here’s some screenshots of the Alpha version of the game, just to give you an idea of what the game will look and feel like. These were taken on the Android SDK emulator, running a standard 320 x 480 resolution with 160 DPI, similar to the Droid Eris.
Here’s the opening splash screen for the game.

Here’s the game in action. The game starts out pretty simple, but after the first few waves you’re going to start getting multiple babies coming, plus some surprises.
Already almost dead by wave 2. It’s hard to man the game and the screen capture program at the same time.
Wave 3. This is still an “easy” wave.
So I didn’t do so well. But I wasn’t trying. Honest.
